Tia Rubia & the kids

I don't know if all of you know this or not but my great friend, Rubia Fagundes, has been living with us almost two years now. We love having her with us and have greatly enjoyed watching our children interact with her and her friends. She has been with us for the majority of Eva's life and all of Spencer's. So they know and love her very much. There seems to be a special bond between Spencer and Rubia - he talks and smiles with her more than he does with anyone else - including me. :( She is from Brazil - Rio Grande do Sul - and is a great cook! We look forward to her wonderful rice and beans and salmon. She teaches Portuguese at BYU and in fact, that is how I met her. She was my roommate in the Portuguese house - she taught me all the Portuguese I know! :) So she has put up with me from even before Adam and I started dating! She is a saint! Rubia is one of those people you are always grateful God put in your path. We love her and thank Heavenly Father for her frequently. Everyone should have a Rubia in their lives - if you don't have one, I might be bribed to share her just a little! :)

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter one and all! I hope it was a wonderful Sunday for all of you. We, at the Rushforth house, had a beautiful day. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere in our home was wonderful - the Spirit was there to remind us of the true meaning of Easter. I am sure Adam and Eva would join me in saying we are so grateful for our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We know that He lived here on this earth, that he set a perfect example for us, that he was beaten and suffered for us. We also know that He now lives. We are so grateful for His resurrection and for His love. Because of His atonement, we are able to repent of our sins and come back to our Heavenly Father. Because He lived again, we too will live again. I am so grateful for Him.

Saturday Night with Family

March 15, 2008:

Saturday night we had a special program and birthday celebration at the church for Grandma. We all wore matching T-shirts that said "AHR (Adelia Hall Rushforth) None Better". It was fun for me to be a part of the Rushforth clan - I was very proud of the family I married into and Grandma Dee is an amazing woman. I am so glad I was able to meet her and that my children have come to know and love her as well.

It was great to see my immediate in-laws as well. My kids love to see their grandparents from Las Vegas and their cool aunts and uncles. I think Eva had a grand old time getting to know her Arizona cousins. Every time we would leave an activity to go back to the hotel she would start to cry until we told her we would get to play with them in a little while. Then she would be happy and come with us quietly. :)

One of the coolest parts of the night was watching all the great grandkids sing "A Bushel and A Peck". They tried it twice and the second time was definitely better than the first. Her is the second rendition.
